New Year's Dish in Japan

Happy New Year from Lily and member of Tackle-Umi!

In Japan, Japanese people took New Year's
holiday. Most of companies and shops were closed
around 30th of December to 4th of January.

Most of us have good time with our family and eat
special meal for New Year called Osechi meal.
Look this beautiful meal box.

Each dish has meaning,

For example, "Kuri-kinton" Sweet potato & chestnut
refer to wealth with it's golden color.

Shrimp refer to wishing long life with it's beard
and bending waist.

I went back to my home and ate Osechi with my family
this new year's holiday. Yes, I had a good time!
but must loose weight, as I eat too much.

How do you spend New year in your country?
